I completed the final session with Chris yesterday. When I started I was sceptical that there could be much change for me in a short few weeks. However, Chris has an amazing breadth of experience and skill and was able to guide me through using lots of different techniques and strategies. I have had previous times in my life where I have struggled with anxiety and reactive depression and have had counselling too. However, Chris has been the first person to give me visual tools that I can use to manage my emotions and mind. I work well with mental images and Chris worked with this. I can’t express my gratitude enough to her for the help she has offered, in a professional, caring, empathic and gently challenging environment. The outcome is that I am prepared for the tsunami that will be the inevitable when my Dad passes away, but it has helped me plan for the longer term situations, including catastrophising thoughts (what’s the evidence that the worst will happen?). I am also being able to reassure and sooth my emotional self (we called this the Muppet!) by engaging my adult self.
The experiences in the sessions have enabled me to look to the future with hope and helped me understand more about what I want in life, for me. I would highly recommend Chris.
